action

The musical is about a Swedish girl who leaves her city to establish herself as a singer in the show and music business. When the time comes, however, she realizes how glorious and glamorous the world of celebrities is; rather, she is just a puppet of her managers. Finally, she warns us about blue-eyed dreams of fame and fortune. This girl reflects, to some extent, the history of ABBA members.

Thank You for the Music, I Wonder (Departure) and I'm a Marionette can all be found in partially modified form on the album ABBA - The Album and were B-sides of the three singles from this album; I Wonder (Departure) was even recorded live on the B-side of The Name of the Game . The last song, Get on the Carousel , never appeared on a record and can only be heard heavily abridged in the film ABBA - The Movie . The title Hole in Your Soul , which later appeared on ABBA - The Album , contains a few passages from Get on the Carousel , which Andersson and Ulvaeus simply rewrote in 1977 for "dislike". Originally Get on the Carousel planned as a bonus track.
