The Perry Bible Fellowship

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Perry Bible Fellowship ( PBF for short ) is a webcomic drawn by New York-based Nicholas Gurewitch . Gurewitch has published the comics on his website since 2001 , and his strips were first printed in a Syracuse University newspaper . Since 2007, these have been published in several dozen newspapers and magazines around the world. Most of the publications take place in the USA, in Great Britain The Guardian prints the comics, with Maxim magazine the Czech Republic, Singapore, Russia and India are also covered.

The author initially published a new comic every week, each telling a complete story within three or four boxes. From February 27, 2008, the comic will appear at irregular intervals. The Guardian newspaper describes the comic as sometimes quite crude, but less in a perverse than absurd way. The humor is sometimes deep black, but the comic is often presented with a strange loveliness. In addition, some strips are quite profound, which also makes repeated viewing worthwhile.

In 2006 the comic received the Ignatz Award as "the most outstanding webcomic".

Since November 2007 there is a hardcover edition of the best PBF comics under the name The Trial of Colonel Sweeto and other stories .
