The Persistence of Chaos (German: The persistence of chaos ) is an art object in the form of a virus-infected laptops by Chinese artist Guo O Dong .

Work description and reception

A Samsung NC10 netbook from 2008 served as the technical basis . This computer is equipped with the Windows XP operating system and was deliberately infected with the largest viruses and malware in the history of the computer .

The laptop was marketed through the artist's own website and auctioned off as a work of art for a price of $ 1,345,000. This led to worldwide reporting.
