The Pew Charitable Trusts

The Pew Charitable Trusts is an independent US non-profit organization founded in 1948 and headquartered in Philadelphia. Founded by the children of Sunoco founder Joseph Newton Pew , it has $ 5 billion in net worth, $ 250 million in budget and over 600 employees. The organization is committed to protecting the oceans, the environment and the climate, among other things.

The Pew Research Center has been part of The Pew Charitable Trusts since 2004 .

The Pew Environment Group is the conservation arm of the trusts.
