The Broome Dusters were an American ice hockey franchise of the North American Hockey League based in Binghamton , New York .

history

The Broome Dusters were founded for the 1973/74 season as a franchise of the North American Hockey League , which was held for the first time . The team's most successful season was the 1976/77 season , in which the Broome Dusters reached the second playoff round for the Lockhart Cup . In this they were defeated by the Maine Nordiques in the best-of-seven series with 1: 4 wins.

After the North American Hockey League was dissolved in 1977, the Broome Dusters also stopped playing. Instead, investors acquired the rights to the franchise of the Rhode Island Reds from the American Hockey League , which from then on played in the AHL under the name Binghamton Dusters .
