The Syracuse Blazers were an American ice hockey franchise based in Syracuse , New York .

history

The Syracuse Blazers were founded in 1967 as a franchise for the Eastern Hockey League . They won their championship title in the 1972/73 season. After the league was subsequently dissolved, the Blazers moved to the North American Hockey League, which was held for the first time . Their championship title, the Lockhart Cup , they also won in the 1973/74 and 1976/77 seasons . After the NAHL was dissolved in 1977, the Syracuse Blazers also stopped playing.
