The Roanoke Valley Rebels were an American ice hockey franchise of the Eastern Hockey League and Southern Hockey League from Roanoke , Virginia .

history

The Salem Rebels from the Eastern Hockey League were 1,970 to Roanoke, Virginia, moved and changed their name to Roanoke Valley Rebels. When the EHL was temporarily dissolved in 1973, the Rebels continued to play in the newly formed Southern Hockey League . The team immediately took first place in the regular season in the SHL and secured the SHL championship in the play-offs. Following the 1975/76 season , the team stopped playing.

A team of the same name took part in the game operation of the East Coast Hockey League in the 1992/93 season .
