The Winston-Salem Polar Twins were an American ice hockey franchise of the Southern Hockey League from Winston-Salem , North Carolina .

history

The Winston-Salem Polar Twins began playing in the Southern Hockey League in 1973 as one of six founding teams . The team always occupied one of the midfield positions in the SHL, only in the last season they occupied the last place. After the 1976/77 season ended prematurely for financial reasons and the league was discontinued, the Winston-Salem Polar Twins also stopped playing.

A team of the same name took part in the game operations of the Southern Professional Hockey League in the 2004/05 season .
