Theo Lucas

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Theo Lucas († in the 20th century) was a pop singer who became known as the "whispering tenor".

Life

Little is known about Lucas' life. He lived from 1925 to 1928 in Berlin in the Charlottenburg Kantstrasse 109. For the following years, the Berlin address books recorded no listings Lucas. In 1934 he lived at Schildhornstrasse 17. The entries in Berlin address books coincide with the time when Lucas, often as the refrain singer of Gabriel Formiggini's orchestra, made recordings with the VOX . His “gay interpretation” of Am Sonntag mein Süßer will go sailing with me , in which he puts the well-known refrain in the mouth of a blond gentleman who is in the Eldorado and is asked by a lady of all people to go with me on Sunday, became particularly well known to spend him.

The OFDB lists five films for the period between 1919 and 1939, each of which featured an actor named Theo Lucas.
