Therapy-free interval
The term therapy-free interval is used in different contexts:
- In emergency medicine , it describes the period from the occurrence of an event to the arrival of qualified medical help. Ideally, this period is bridged by immediate and first aid measures carried out by laypeople or first responders .
- In general medicine, the interruption of a certain treatment, such as a break between chemotherapy cycles or the suspension of anticoagulant drugs before invasive procedures or operations.
