Thermal illusion

A thermal illusion is a perception illusion in the perception of temperature .

A standard experiment for this can be carried out with simple means. Usually three containers are filled with a cold, warm and hot liquid each. The test person holds one hand in the cold liquid and the other hand in the hot liquid. After a sufficient period of time to get used to the stimuli , the test person simultaneously places both hands in the container filled with warm liquid. It is not possible for him to make a statement about whether the liquid is hot or cold.
