Thierry Marchand

Thierry Marchand (* 1978 or 1979) is a French animator .

Life

Marchand studied telecommunications and multimedia at the École nationale supérieure d'ingénieurs de Caen from 1999 to 2002 and then worked as a computer scientist in France and Germany. Since he developed a great interest in 3D animation, he enrolled in 2004 to study at the Gobelins, l'École de l'Image . His graduation film was Oktapodi in 2007 , which he realized in seven months with Julien Bocabeille, François-Xavier Chanioux, Olivier Delabarre, Quentin Marmier and Emud Mokhberi . The story of two octopuses in love was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Animated Short Film in 2009.

From 2007 to 2008 Marchand worked as a 3D animator at Framestone in London and then worked for a year at Dreamworks in India as a character designer . Marchand has been a freelance animator since 2010, including in the advertising sector. Marchand lives and works in Paris .
