Thioketenes are a group of organochemical compounds with the general formula R 1 R 2 C = C = S, where R 1 and R 2 can be any radicals . Thioketene (thioethenone) is the simplest representative of this group of substances with the formula CH 2 = C = S. Thioketenes are very reactive, i.e. unstable, and have therefore not been investigated experimentally so far.

Production of thioketenes

Thioketenes are accessible by pyrolysis of 1,2,3- thiadiazoles .
