Thomas Lautsch

Thomas Lautsch (* 1961 ) is a German mining engineer. He is part of the management of the Federal Agency for Disposal, which was founded in 2016

Life

Lautsch, who comes from a family of miners, received his professional training at the Westerholt colliery . He then studied at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule in Aachen , graduated as a graduate engineer for mining and received his doctorate there in 2004 as a Dr.-ing. The subject of his dissertation was Optimization of Multiple Line Fixture Operations. Assessment of technical and organizational measures with the help of a computer model .

Professionally, Thomas Lautsch initially worked as a mine operator in Westerholt. He also worked on various other mines, including Auguste-Victoria in Marl, General Blumenthal in Recklinghausen and Ewald's continuation in Oer-Erkenschwick. From 1990 to 1998 he lived in Herten , after which he went with his family to the USA in West Virginia and later to Pennsylvania to work as a mining engineer. He then moved to Australia.

In 2004 Thomas Lautsch returned to Germany to work as managing director of KSL Kupferschiefer Lausitz GmbH. In 2014 he became managing director of the German Society for the Construction and Operation of Repository for Waste (DBE). On September 1, 2017, he was appointed technical director of the Federal Association for Final Storage .
