The Thompson Plateau occupies the southwestern part of the Interior Plateau in the Canadian province of British Columbia .
The hilly plateau, which reaches heights of more than 2000 m , is bordered on three sides by valleys, to the east by the Okanagan Valley , to the north by the valley of the Thompson River and to the west by the valley of the Fraser River .
To the south, the Similkameen River valley separates the Thompson Plateau from the Okanagan Range as part of the Cascade Mountains .
