Thunderhawk in Dorney Park & ​​Wildwater Kingdom ( Allentown , Pennsylvania , USA ) is a wooden roller coaster manufactured by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters with the serial number 41 , which was opened as a coaster in 1923 . It has been operating under the name Thunderhawk since 1989 .

The layout of the track had a classic out-and-back design when it opened, but was changed to a figure-eight design in 1930 . The 843 m long route reaches a height of 24 m and has a 20 m high first drop on which the trains can reach a top speed of 72 km / h.

Trains

Thunderhawk has two trains with four cars each. Six people (three rows of two people) can be seated in each car. The passengers must be at least 1.22 m tall to be allowed to ride. The restraint systems used are headrests, seat belts and simply snap-in lap bars.
