Tide calendar

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the tide or tide calendar you can find high and low water values for certain places and times. The high and low water values are variable in height and time, so that the tide calendar is only valid for a certain period of time. The tide or tide calendars are published through various sales channels (including bookshops, specialist publishers for nautical literature).

The information is often given in tabular form in which only the low and high water values and their times are given. This is e.g. B. is often sufficiently accurate for recreational skippers. The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) also provides up-to-date information online for certain locations.

In publications of a more professional nature, curves are also reproduced in order to be able to determine intermediate values, since the course of the tides is neither linear nor sinusoidal , which would make a calculation easy, but can vary greatly depending on the location.
