In each episode, pets from an animal shelter in the broadcast area of the Central German Broadcasting Corporation ( Saxony , Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia ) are presented, mainly dogs and cats. By the 25th anniversary, more than 8,000 animals from over 100 animal shelters were found.
The content is supplemented with articles that are intended to convey general knowledge about pets, such as questions of animal husbandry .
