from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A tikkun is a Jewish textbook. A tikkun kor'im ( tikkun for reader) is used as a teaching aid for singing the Torah reading from a Torah scroll in a synagogue . Each page of the book contains a column with Teamim as an aid to cantillation , and one column without Teamim, as shown in the Torah scroll. A tikkun sofrim ( tikkun for scribe) is used in preparation for writing portions of the Torah scroll . It is intended as a teaching aid for the Sofer who is making a copy of a Torah.
