Timmy Dooley (born February 13, 1969 in County Clare ) is an Irish politician ( Fianna Fáil ) and since 1997 member of the Dáil Éireann , the lower house of the Irish Parliament .

Dooley attended Mountshannon National School and Scariff Community College in County Clare. Before his political career, he worked as a businessman in the areas of sales and marketing for IT companies and publishing companies. In 2002 he was elected to the 22nd Seanad Éireann and belonged to this until 2007. Dooley, however, retired early from the Senate after his election to the 30th Dáil Éireann, as is customary in such a case. In the election for the 31st Dáil Éireann, he stood again in the constituency of Clare and was able to defend his seat.

Dooley is married with two children. He has been an active member of Fianna Fáil since 1987.
