Timothy III Salophakiolus
Timothy III Salophakiolos († 482 ) was Patriarch of Alexandria from 460 to 475 and from 477 to 482.
Timotheus was initially a monk in the monastery of the Tabennesiosts in Kanopos, Egypt . He was a moderate supporter of the Council of Chalcedon and was therefore installed as patriarch by the emperor after Timothy II Ailouros was exiled , but enjoyed no popular support. After the return of Timotheus Ailouros in 475 he had to flee, and after his death in 477 he had difficulties in opposing his successor, Petros III. Mongos , enforce.
