Tiro de bola aragonesa

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tiro de bola aragonesa is in the Spanish region of Aragon widespread (especially in Campo de Cariñena, Borja, Almunia, Épila, Calatorao and Zaragoza) traditional sport. It belongs to a series of sports that (similar to Frisian sport) are usually practiced by the same athletes.

regulate

The rules are very similar to the German Boßeln . Throwing takes place on an unpaved road, mostly on old gravel roads. The route is at least 3 km long, but often up to 6 km. The winner is the thrower or the team that completed the route with the fewest throws. A team consists of 2 or 4 turrets and an indicator, the so-called marcador , which inspects the bumps and the road gradient and displays them accordingly.

Play device

A completely round iron ball with a diameter of 7.5 cm and a weight of 1.66 kg is thrown. Junior balls weigh 1.33 kilograms and children's balls still weigh 1 kilogram. As with many other regional variants, the origins of these balls were cannon balls.

Importance of sport

The Tiro de bola is mainly run to preserve traditions and is regionally limited to Aragon . Internationalization and standardization are largely rejected.
