To Vima ( Greek Το Βήμα "The (speaker) podium", actually "The step") is aweekly newspaper that appears throughout Greece . Until November 26, 2010 it appeared as a daily newspaper except Mondays. The Sunday edition with its supplement illustrated BHMAgazino ( VIMAgazino ) was the flagship and is now the only printed edition. To Vima was publishedonce before, from 1984 to March 1999,only as a weekly newspaper.

In addition to the articles in the weekly newspaper, the To Vima website also has current reports in Greek and English .

The newspaper was first published in 1922 by Dimitris Lambrakis under the name Ελεύθερον Βήμα ("Free Podium") and is still managed today by his son Christos Lambrakis. The Lambrakis publishing group (Δημοσιογραφικός Οργανισμός Λαμπράκη) also developed from the newspaper .

The newspaper gives itself a demanding profile for an educated target group - politically it is close to the right, reformist wing of the social democratic party PASOK . Leading Greek journalists and intellectuals are among the regular columnists.

Dimitris Lambrakis also acted as editor-in-chief, this position is now held by Stavros Psycharis.
