Leap of death

A death leap is called:

  • A jump that a person undertakes, usually from a great height, with the intention of killing himself, see Death jump (suicide)
  • A variation of the somersault performed mainly by trapeze artists in the circus , in which the person performing the somersault rolls over several times. This is best known under the Italian word for death jump, Salto Mortale.
  • A series of figures in acrobatic rock 'n' roll dance (death jump, flat death jump, side death jump), see acrobatics (rock 'n' roll)
  • A particularly dangerous, "death-defying" jump in cliff jumping
