Death mobiles

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Todmobile is an Icelandic pop rock band. It was founded in 1988 by Andrea Gylfadóttir (vocals), Eyþór Arnalds (vocals and cello) and Þorvaldur Bjarni Þorvaldsson (vocals, guitar).

history

Todmobile's first album, Betra en nokkuð annað , was released in 1989 and received positive reviews. The second album (1990), simply called Todmobile , sold over 8,000 copies, which, according to the criteria in force in Iceland at the time, meant the status of a platinum record . After the fourth, also very successful studio album Spillt (1993), the band split up for the time being. In 1996 Andrea and Þorvaldur continued the band together with Vilhjálmur Goði instead of Eyþór and released the album Perlur og svín . Since then, Todmobile has released two more studio albums, a live CD and DVD with the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra (2004) and compilations . Founding member Eyþór Arnalds has been active again with Todmobile since 2003.
