Tolerable upper intake level

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tolerable Upper Intake Level (short UL, German about tolerable upper intake amount ) refers to the maximum total daily intake of a nutrient , which are long-term expected (chronic intake) no development of adverse health effects or health side effects for a healthy population. The term “tolerable” is intended to designate the highest intake value that can be tolerated with a sufficiently high probability from a biological point of view. The UL is not a recommended intake.
