Toni Sylva (born February 27, 1884 in Mönchengladbach , † after 1915) was a German actress .

life and career

Toni Sylva-Sieben made her debut at the Luisen Theater in Berlin in 1903 . In the following years, too, the Mönchengladbach girl was mainly seen on stages in the German capital. On November 27, 1907, she left Berlin for a season at the Neue Stadttheater von Gießen , but returned to Berlin on April 11, 1908. During this time they traveled to Italy and Greece.

In 1912, the director Walter Schmidthässler brought Toni Sylva in front of the camera for the title role in the two-part melodrama The Woman Without a Heart . Until shortly before the outbreak of the First World War, she starred in a number of dramatic and melodramatic stories. It was film material that was produced throughout by the Vitascope company and mostly staged by Schmidthässler. Toni Sylva ended her film career as early as 1915 and disappeared from the public eye.
