Torre de Sao Rafael

The Torres São Rafael / São Gabriel are twin towers ( 38 ° 46 ′  N , 9 ° 6 ′  W / 38 ° 46 ′  N , 9 ° 6 ′  W ) in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon . They were erected in the run-up to the World Exhibition Expo 98 in Parque das Nações . The architects were Júlio Appleton , João Almeida and Tiago Abecassis .

The two residential towers flank the Centro Comercial Vasco da Gama shopping center and bear the names of the two ships with which the navigator Vasco da Gama discovered the sea ​​route to India in 1498 . With a height of 110 meters, they are the third tallest skyscrapers in Portugal.
