The Torres das Amoreiras

The Torres das Amoreiras are a complex of residential and commercial buildings in the western center of the Portuguese capital, Lisbon . They were built in the 1980s according to plans by the architect Tomás Taveira in the postmodern style. In 1993, Taveira was awarded the Prémio Valmor for his work .

The building complex includes three office towers and a residential tower on an L-shaped floor plan. The four towers are connected by a horizontal structure that houses a shopping center and leisure facilities.

In their urban exposed location on a hill on the central Avenida Engenheiro Duarte Pacheco , the Torres das Amoreiras shape the city's silhouette.
