The Roman Catholic Diocese of Chinhoyi ( Latin Dioecesis Chinhoyiensis , English Diocese of Chinhoyi ) is in Zimbabwe situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Chinhoyi .
history
The mission was entrusted to the German Jesuits in 1958. Pope Paul VI founded the Apostolic Prefecture of Sinoia with the Apostolic Constitution Si evangelicos fructus on December 17, 1973 from cession of the Archdiocese of Salisbury .
On June 25, 1982, it took the name, Chinhoyi Apostolic Prefecture. With the bull Cum Praefectura she was raised to the rank of diocese on October 28, 1985 and it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Harare as a suffragan diocese.

The diocese of Chinhoyi includes the districts of Guruve, Centenary, Mount Darwin and Rushinga (north of the Mazowe River ) in the Mashonaland Central Province and the Makonde, Hurungwe and Kariba districts (east of the Sanyo River ) in the Mashonaland West Province .
