Dieter Scholz
Dieter Scholz SJ (born June 2, 1938 in Berlin ) is a German religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Chinhoyi .
Life
Dieter Scholz joined the religious order of the Jesuits , made his profession on April 15, 1958 and was ordained a priest on July 13, 1969 . From 1966 to 1970 he studied at the Philosophical-Theological University of Sankt Georgen . He then went on the mission to Rhodesia .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him bishop of Chinhoyi on April 6, 2006 . The Archbishop of Harare , Robert Christopher Ndlovu , ordained him episcopal on September 2nd of the same year; Co- consecrators were Edward Joseph Adams , Apostolic Nuncio to Zimbabwe , and Pius Alick Mvundla Ncube , Archbishop of Bulawayo .
On February 17, 2016, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
