Raymond Tapiwa Mupa CSsR (born April 28, 1970 in Tamirepi , Zimbabwe ) is a Zimbabwean religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Chinhoyi .

Life

Raymond Tapiwa Mupa entered Chishawasha Seminary in 1990 , where he studied philosophy . He joined the Redemptorist Order in 1996 and made perpetual profession in 2001 . Mupa received on 4 August 2001, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

From 2001 to 2005 Raymond Tapiwa Mupa was parish vicar in Mabvuku and Tafara . In addition, he obtained a master's degree in Catholic theology with a specialization in canon law at St. Augustine's College of South Africa in 2004 . From 2005 to 2007 Mupa was pastor of the parish of St. Gerard’s in Borrowdale in the Archdiocese of Harare before he went to Rome for further studies , where he obtained a licentiate in moral theology at the Pontifical Alfonsiana Academy in 2010 .

From 2010 to 2014 Raymond Tapiwa Mupa was pastor of the parishes of St. Fidelis in Mabvuku and St. Alphonsus in Tafara. He also taught moral theology from 2010 to 2015 at the Chishawasha Seminary and at Holy Trinity College in Harare . From 2012 to 2014 Mupa was also Professor of Canon Law at Holy Trinity College . In 2014, Raymond Tapiwa Mupa became Vice Rector of Holy Trinity College and in 2015 Superior of the Redemptorists in Harare.

On December 30, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Chinhoyi. The Archbishop of Harare , Robert Christopher Ndlovu , donated him episcopal ordination on April 7, 2018 ; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Zimbabwe, Archbishop Marek Zalewski , and the Bishop of Gokwe , Rudolf Nyandoro .
