Touque

The touque was a measure of weight in Pondichery (now Puducherry ), the capital of the former French possessions in eastern India . The measure was used for goods such as spices and vegetables .

The palom as a smaller measure was a gold and silver weight. It was divided into

  • 1 palom = 10 viraganidés = 100 panavadés = 33.993 grams
