Transit Poetry is a German synth rock band. It was founded in 2002 by singer and multi-instrumentalist Sascha Blach (including Despairation). The music combines elements from pop , electronica , trip-hop , metal and rock .

background

Transit Poetry follow a four-album overall concept of music and poetry, based on the setting of the four elements. It all started in 2004 with the water album "Themes From The Desolate Ocean", which was released via Curzweyhl / Rough Trade . Just like the successor "Shamanic Passage Through The Embers" (2005, Avasonic / Rough Trade), which is dedicated to fire, it was recorded, produced and mixed by Sascha more or less single-handedly. In 2008 the third album "Evocation of Gaia" followed, which is dedicated to the topic of earth and on which the Dutch band Omnia also collaborated. For the release of the third album, Transit Poetry also released a free web EP for promotional purposes. In 2011 the advance single "Little Buddha" (Remote Music) and the album "Pedestrians In The Sky" (Remote / Danse Macabre ) were released, ending the concept with the element of air. The album also features a duet with singer Leandra . The singer explains the basic idea behind the four-part concept as follows: "It's about communication between the material and the spiritual world; the lyrics are like a bridge. All four albums of the overall concept are subordinate to this idea and serve to create a larger unity . " After the release of the free download EP "The 5th Element", the band announced on their website in January 2012 that they would be on hiatus for an indefinite period.
