Omnia ("everything"; neuter plural of Latin : omnis , "everyone") is a music group from the Netherlands , which can be assigned to the genre Pagan-Folk . Omnia is the abbreviation for the exclamation "Omnia chaos est" (Latin for "Everything is chaos"), a motto of the band .

history

In 1996, Steve Evans-van der Harten and Louis Aubri-Krieger founded Omnia as a group that tried to revive Northern European Celtic and Roman music (end of the Iron Age / beginning of the Imperial Era). Performances took place mainly in large European museums until 2002. When Jennifer Evans-van der Harten joined the band in 2002, the historical concept was put aside. Since then, the music has been based on neo-Celtic themes and styles. In 2005 the Irishman Joseph Hennon, who supported Omnia as a guest musician on the CD Crone of War , became a permanent member of the band. With Michel Rozek, a new percussionist was added to the band in 2008, but he left them again in 2009. Tom Spaan was his successor. Further changes in the line-up followed in 2010 when Philip Steenbergen joined the group and Louis Aubri-Krieger left Omnia at the end of the year. In 2011, Maral Haggimoni joined as a second vocalist. Daphyd Sens replaced Louis Aubri-Krieger on Slideridoo in the same year, and Tom Spaan also left the band. The band also performed at several festivals in 2011, such as Hexentanz Festival, Fire Dance Festival, Horn Festival, Festival Mediaval , M'era Luna Festival , Burgfolk. Rob van Barschot, a new percussionist, has joined the band. At the end of the year Maral Haggimoni left the band. In 2012 Omnia released the live album Live on Earth . In 2013, Philip Steenbergen announced his departure. In 2014 the album Earth Warrior was released . Distribution is carried out by the "Zap Prod" label founded by Steve and Jennifer Evans-van der Harten, later renamed "PaganScum Records".

Omnia officially supports Sea Shepherd and its founder Paul Watson .
