Transparent network substrates

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Transparent Network Substrate (TNS) is a proprietary network technology from Oracle and is used in a computer network to establish peer-to-peer connections between computers where this is not possible at the machine level. It provides the user with a transparent network layer that makes a heterogeneous network with a set of different network protocols appear like a homogeneous network. Various other network protocols can be coupled to this transparent layer. As with the OSI model , it provides different services to higher-level protocols .

The TNS is used in particular for communication with Oracle databases .
