Transport package

A Transport Packet ( TPKT , German Transportpaket ) is used in the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) to send several messages in one packet . Transport packets are described in RFC 1006 . The messages to be transported are called Transport Protocol Data Units (TPDU) there. This method is used, among other things, for IP telephony .

construction

A transport packet consists of a packet header and a variable number of TPDUs. The package header consists of the specification of the version number of the protocol, a reserved area and the specification of the length of the package including the package header.
