Songline

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Songlines or Songlines ( dreaming track ) of the Aborigines give an invisible, mythical map of Australia, which is further supported by vocals from generation to generation and the basis of walks ( Walkabouts ) are the Australian aborigines. Some songlines run through places revered by the Aborigines with rock carvings made by them, such as in the Wollemi National Park . This map is being changed by civilization through construction work, so that the cultural roots of the indigenous population are destroyed and lost.

The songlines were processed literarily and cinematically in the novel Traumpfade (1987) by Bruce Chatwin (1940–1989), then in the film Songlines (1989), based on the music of Alphaville , and directed by nine directors from six countries also in Urs Widmer's story Liebesbrief für Mary (1993) and in the novel Traumreisen (1998) by Marlo Morgan .
