history

In 1984 the brothers Anton and Helmut Gschwentner started arranging bus group trips to Tyrol from Stans in Tyrol . Initially on a small scale, the brothers mainly brought French guests to Tyrol. Due to increasing demand, they founded "Tirol Hotels GesmbH" in 1989. In 1993 the offer was expanded from Tyrol to the Czech Republic and Hungary. In 1994 the Gschwentners founded the subsidiary “Destination Autriche” in Paris. In 1995 a branch in Prague followed.

From 1999 the tour operator operated charter flights to Prague, Vienna and Budapest. In 2000 a branch was opened in Vienna, in 2001 one in Budapest. There have been charter flights to Dubrovnik in Croatia since 2004 . With the new travel programs, the number of employees in the main office also increased. In 2005, a modern office building made of wood and glass was completed as the new company headquarters in Stans. This year the tour operator changed the name to "Travel Europe". In 2006 a new office was opened in Croatia. A branch in Krakow followed in 2007 . In 2009 Travel Europe took over “Austro Pauli”, today “Visit Europe” and thus also a branch in Madeira . In 2010 Travel Europe opened a branch in Lisbon and Berlin. In 2012 a branch in Corsica followed through the takeover of the local tour operator Coryse Voyage. Further branch offices were added in 2016 (Malta), 2018 (Edinburgh, through the takeover of Rob Roy Tours and 2019 (Tirana). So far (as of 2020) Travel Europe has 16 branch offices.
