Structure of the trifluoromethyl group

The trifluoromethyl group (–CF 3 ) is a functional group in organic chemistry . The simplest representative is the fluoroform , where an -H is attached to this group. Other well-known representatives are trifluoroacetic acid and benzotrifluoride .

The trifluoromethyl group is also part of the trifluoroacetyl group and the triflyl group .
