The pump room in Hamburg's city park

The drinking hall is a listed building in Hamburg's city park .

Description and history of use

The building, which was built from 1914 to 1915 according to plans by Fritz Schumacher , is a small round building that has an open pillar hall with two short side wings and is axially aligned with an elongated lawn. This runs towards the sculpture "Diana with dogs". The building is located in the southwest of the city park in Winterhude at the intersection of the Südring and Otto-Wels Straße.

In the pump room , fountain cures were originally offered to people who could not afford to visit a spa. Visitors to the hall had a choice of 50 medicinal waters and designated walks in the city park.

Subsequently, the building was initially used as a senior meeting place; used as a café since spring 2013 after previous renovation.
