Trix and Flix

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Trix and Flix were the official mascots of the 2008 European Football Championship .

history

The two jagged twins wear the national colors of the Euro hosts Austria and Switzerland , red and white, and the jersey numbers 20 and 08 on the chest, which when read together results in the year 2008. Trix with the "20" is typically on the right as seen by the couple and is wearing a white top with red trousers. Flix with the "08", on the other hand, has a red top with white trousers. Both wear theirs in the other color in capital letters in the upper area on the back of their jerseys. The flame-like head of hair, which reaches down to the nose and mouth area, is red in both and, in normal pairing, slopes outwards. Both wear a white zigzag line painted on the outside of the couple above the eye, which resembles stylized alpine peaks. The hand pointing outwards wears a red bracelet. Socks and shoes are exaggerated in size, comic-like and continue the alternating colors of the jersey and shorts.

In a friendly match between Austria and Switzerland in October 2006, the two entered a football stadium for the first time.

The names and, in some cases, the appearance of the characters are similar to those of the famous cartoon characters by Fix and Foxi .

The two play the leading role in the computer-animated music video of Like a Superstar by musician Shaggy , and they also play alongside Shaggy in the official EM song Feel The Rush .
