Trophy truck

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Trophy Truck is a trophy carrier, also known as a Baja truck or trick truck. The vehicle is used in high-speed off-road races.

Although any truck that meets safety standards can race in the Trophy Truck class, the majority of Trophy Trucks have long- travel suspensions and high-performance engines. They are only intended for desert races and are not approved for road races. These vehicles are correctly referred to as Trophy Trucks when they are used in SCORE International recognized races and Trick Trucks when used in the Best in the Desert races recognized by SCORE International .

Since the introduction of the class in 1994, the development of the trophy car has advanced rapidly. Prior to this date, the SCORE rules for Grade 8 stipulated that participants had to use a production frame. The introduction of the Trophy Truck class brought new freedom for the participants with minimal rules regarding the construction. The intensive development of full tube chassis and suspension travel led to a previously unknown level of performance and speed.
