Chinese Association for the Promotion of Democracy

The Chinese Association for the Promotion of Democracy ( Chinese  中國民主促進會  /  中国民主促进会 , Pinyin Zhōngguó mínzhǔ cùjìnhuì ) is one of the approved " Eight Democratic Parties and Groups " of the People's Republic of China . She is committed to the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party .

history

According to its preamble, the Chinese Association for the Promotion of Democracy was founded on December 30, 1945 under the guidance and assistance of the Chinese Communist Party . After the People's Republic of China was founded on October 1, 1949, it was one of the permitted small parties. In 1951 the party decided to dedicate itself in a special way to the teachers of elementary and secondary schools. A year later, the target group was expanded to include people from the healthcare and publishing sectors.

According to its statutes, the party holds up "the great banner of socialism with Chinese features and is led by Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thinking of the Three Representations, the concept of scientific development and Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese features".

Organization and membership

According to the structure of the Communist Party of China , the organizational principle of the union is democratic centralism . The party had 193,000 members as of December 31, 2018.

It is financed through membership fees and government subsidies.
