Taiwan's Democratic Self-Determination League

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Taiwan's Democratic Self-Determination League ( Chinese  台灣 民主 自治 同盟  /  台湾 民主 自治 同盟 , Pinyin Táiwān Mínzhǔ Zìzhì Tóngméng ) is one of the eight democratic parties and groups in the People's Republic of China . She is a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). The party cannot act as an opposition to the government: the democratic parties are neither non-ruling nor opposition parties, but parties involved in government.

According to Radio China International (People's Republic of China), the approximately 1,800 members of the league are mainly composed of "prominent former residents of Taiwan" who now live on mainland China . Like the official leadership of the People's Republic of China, Taiwan's Democratic Self-Determination League is also campaigning for Taiwan to join the People's Republic of China, which would mean the dissolution of the Republic of China .
