Tatiana Bagischewna Nikitina

Tatjana Bagischewna Nikitina , born Tatjana Bagischewna Schikajewa , ( Russian Татьяна Багишевна Никитина , maiden name Russian Татьяна Багишевна Шикаева * 27. July 1954 in Yoshkar-Ola ) is a Soviet - Russian medievalist and ethnologist of the Mari people .

Life

Nikitina studied at the Mari State University in Yoshkar-Ola, founded in 1972, and graduated in 1977. She married the Mari prehistorian Valeri Valentinovich Nikitin (* 1940).

In 1977 Nikitina became a research assistant at the Mari Research Institute for Language , Literature and History in Yoshkar-Ola and then head of the department of archeology . After her traineeship with Gennady Andreevich Archipow , after defending her dissertation on the Mari in the 16th to the beginning of the 18th century, based on the grave fields finds, she was promoted to candidate for historical sciences in 1988 .

1993–1995 Nikitina headed the Science Center for Finno-Ugric Studies . In 1995 she became Vice Director of the Mari Research Institute for Language, Literature and History of the Republic of Mari El , whose director Gennady Andreyevich Archipov had died in 1995. In 2003 she became her doctoral dissertation for defense on the Mari in the Middle Ages on the basis of archaeological finds for doctor PhD of historical sciences.
