Tropical cyclone Gustav

Gustav is the name of five tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean:

  • Tropical storm Gustav 1984, see Atlantic cyclone season 1984 , which hung over Bermuda as a tropical low pressure area without causing major damage.
  • Hurricane Gustav (1990), see Atlantic hurricane season 1990 , which threatened the Lesser Antilles, but turned off beforehand without causing any damage.
  • Tropical storm Gustav 1996, see Atlantic hurricane season 1996 , a weak storm that formed west of the African coast and dissipated without ever being close to land.
  • Hurricane Gustav (2002) , the first subtropical storm named by the NHC and later passed Cape Hatteras as a hurricane before passing Nova Scotia and dying over Newfoundland.
  • Hurricane Gustav (2008) , a strong hurricane that severely damaged Haiti, Cuba and Louisiana in particular.
