Harsiese II.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Harsiese II (also Harsiese B ) was Amun's high priest . Its activity is documented by reports from the last few years by Osorkon II . This corresponds to his mention in the sixth year of Scheschonq III's reign . (836/833 BC) as well as his further office in the 18th and 19th year of the reign of Petubastis I , which ended with the 25th and 26th year of Scheschonq III's reign. (817/814 to 816/813 BC) are to be equated.

A short time later, Petubastis I appoints Takelot E as his successor, who is still in the sixth year of Scheschonq IV's reign . Jürgen von Beckerath therefore sees Scheschonq IV as a possible successor to Petubastis I.

Harsiese II was in conflict with the high priest Osorkon III. , the son of Takelot II.
