Chebyshev gold medal
The Chebyshev Gold Medal ( Russian Золотая медаль имени П. Л. Чебышёва Solotaja medal imeni PL Chebyshev ) was donated in 1944 (then still known as the Chebyshev Prize) and named after the Russian mathematician Pafnuti Lwyschow . In February 1993 the prize was renamed the Chebyshev Gold Medal and has been awarded by the Russian Academy of Sciences since 1996 for outstanding achievements in the field of mathematics. The gold medal has been awarded every five years since 2002.
