Czechoslovak War Cross 1939

The Czechoslovak War Cross 1939 (Czech: Československý válečný kříž 1939 ) was donated by the government-in-exile of Czechoslovakia on December 20, 1940 and was intended to honor deeds during the Second World War that led to the liberation of the republic. The award was made by the President or the Minister of Defense and other persons authorized by the President.

The cross has only one step. The award was given to Czechoslovak citizens at home, to units of the Czechoslovak army and their members abroad, as well as to units of the Allied armies and their members who earned themselves in the battles for the liberation of Czechoslovakia.

The cross consists of the small national coat of arms of Czechoslovakia on the front and the coats of arms of the four countries (Slovakia, Carpathian Ukraine, Moravia and Silesia ) on the reverse .
